REPEX
|
Our Edgemere and Physicians locations, feature the REPEX (Repeated Endrange Passive Exercise). The design of the REPEX was developed by Robin McKenzie a world renowned Physical Therapist who has been recognized internationally as an authority on the diagnosis and treatment of lower back pain and neck pain. The therapeutic effects of the REPEX are based on the McKenzie Method which uses repetitive and endrange movements to influence the location and intensity of pain that arises from the spine. |
The REPEX can provide up to ten cycles per minute of flexion, extension, or both. There is an additional component of distraction to the spine that will take place during these motions, to create less pressure in the spinal column during treatment. By applying progressive repeated endrange exercises, patients can frequently experience a rapid centralization, reduction or abolition of pain.
The REPEX offers treatment for patients who benefit from repeated movements through pain centralization. Also patients who may have difficulty performing repeated exercises independently due to cervical, upper extremity or strength issues can benefit from REPEX treatment.
