Gabriela Hernandez, PTA
Born and raised in Chihuahua, Gaby came to El Paso in 2015 to pursue her bachelors in kinesiology at UTEP. Upon graduation she started working as a tech at a clinic & applied to the PTA program at Western Tech. Gaby knew she wanted to do PT because in Chihuahua, there’s a non-profit organization that provides free PT services to children. They do a livestream once every year so she would watch it as a kid. It amazed her how the body can relearn proper exercises through range of motion, mobility, strength, and how it changes the life of a person that thought they couldn’t walk again, or as a child, play with other kids.
She’s always been very active, and likes to exercise, go hiking, and running. She likes to move! That also influences her to strive for a better quality of life and independence, which is what she wants to emphasize with her patients, family & friends - the importance of movement.
Associates Degree: AAS Physical Therapy Assistant - Western Technical College
Bachelor’s Degree: Kinesiology, Minor in Biology - University of Texas as El Paso
