"Growing up, I always focused on being fit and functioning at my maximal physical capacity, particularly during my academic outdoor sports days. When I was in 12th grade, my grandfather suffered from a heart attack and needed cardiac bypass surgery. While caring for him, I encountered the physical therapy profession for the first time, as I took him to various pre- and post-op appointments, including his physical therapy sessions. I was amazed to see how much physical therapists from multiple specialties helped him recover and return to his life. I perceived that this field required the core values that matched my personality to be patient, caring, and compassionate to accomplish goals and overall well-being. I got inspired by knowing more about the profession and became passionate about pursuing it as my career to help the community.
After completing my bachelor’s in physical therapy in India, I realized that I craved to continue my education to achieve more expertise and advanced skills in my field to assist my patients in achieving their goals faster. To pursue my master’s, I moved to the US, and along with my master’s, I also obtained rare board certifications by specializing in clinical electrophysiology and musculoskeletal ultrasound. By achieving these advanced skills, I efficiently pinpointed the root cause of patients’ problems and formulated treatment plans to improve their quality of life. This would help patients recover sooner to return to their independent, active life and live up to their full potential!"
